November 20, 1994 - Career begins with The Walt Disney Company

I’m an award-winning author and designer with a 30-year career in creative art direction, marketing, graphic design, and branding at The Walt Disney Company. Though I’m now retired from Disney, I continue to work in the field I love.

Since childhood, I knew I wanted to be an artist. I was drawn to anything creative—drawing, painting, singing, playing instruments, and performing in community theater. Born and raised in Panama, I immigrated to the U.S. in 1989 to pursue my artistic dreams.

My career with Disney began in animation, painting animation cels for the collectible market. I later transitioned into graphic design, branding, and art direction, working across divisions including ESPN, Walt Disney Imagineering, Walt Disney Feature Animation, Disney Cruise Line, Parks & Resorts Sales, and the Disney-sponsored Partners Federal Credit Union. In my final role, I served as Creative Services Manager, leading the marketing and visual design of children’s and young adult books with Disney Publishing.

In 2018, I published Sun Night, a creative realism memoir about the bond I shared with my brother growing up in 1976 Panama. The book has received several awards. I have also written and produced several other books. I am releasing a new book titled Finding Pixel Dust: Stories and Reflections for Building a Meaningful Creative Career in 2025. This is a passion project in a way to celebrate my decades-long Disney career as a way to share what being in a design career looks like from the inside.

In my downtime, I like to freelance and collaborate with a wide range of clients on brand development, marketing, and advertising across print and digital media. I also mentor emerging creatives and serve as a judge for various design and creative competitions.

Specialties: Print and digital advertising, branding, corporate identity, art direction, conceptual design, graphic design, publication layout and design, large-scale signage, interior design, artistic design, email, and electronic banner ad marketing, mentoring, fine arts, oil painting, drawing.
